Sean Bai is announced as Burnley’s new Chief of Staff, replacing Marc Boixasa who left the Premier League side to join Saudi Pro League (SPL) leaders Al Hilal.
Stint with Geylang International
He leaves his post as General Manager of Geylang International (GIFC), having only joined the club in October 2023.
Despite his short 6-month stint, the Eagles have thanked the 39-year old on their social media for playing “an integral role setting the foundations for GIFC 2024-2025’s season”, while several other staff and players have also came forward to pay tributes.
Professional career
According to his Linkedin profile, Sean spent a large part of his career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) since 2011. And it wasn’t until 2019 when he reunited with his former MFA boss, Anil Murthy at Valencia, to join the Spanish side as Director of the President’s Office.
During his 4-year time at the club, he took on several roles including Director General of the Academy and also served as an interim Chief Executive Officer for 5 months.
